Created with the quality and detail equal to the vehicles it showcases, the new showroom is a destination that must be experienced. Refreshments will be provided at the open house celebration. Many of you have probably noticed the renovation in progress for the new O'Daniel Porsche Audi building. Construction began last October, and will be completed this month in time for the grand opening on July 30th. General manager Greg O'Daniel informed us that the decision to renovate the existing Porsche Audi building, built in 1990, was not an easy one. When the decision was finally made about two years ago, it turned into a long drawn out wait before work could actually begin. Part of the delay was a result of Porsche and Audi being on different design schedules. Each brand has specific design elements that they require showrooms to adhere to, as Audi was just updating their design, they told the O'Daniels that it would be better to wait until the new version came out.

Unfortunately, design delays were not the only obstacles impeding the building's completion. Overseas delays also were incurred, as some products had to be shipped from Germany. Mother Nature threw a long, exceptionally cold winter into the works as well, delaying renovation work, and putting construction behind schedule. Out of eight local general contractor companies, CME Corporation won the bid to complete the project. Although it took longer than expected, the new dual showroom building is bigger and better than ever. A custom, high-tech suspended ceiling hangs over brand new tile flooring, and custom built furniture will complete the meticulous construction of the state of the art building. New Rytec high speed garage doors have been installed that can open at the speed of up to 60 inches per second, and are the only ones in all of Fort Wayne and the surrounding area.

Each of the new showrooms will each be able to hold five new vehicles and will become a one stop shop with a new customer service drive in the showroom. The joining of the service and sales teams under one roof is one of the main benefits of the renovation. Customers will not need to leave the comfort of the showroom in order to have their vehicle serviced. In fact, one of the driving factors behind the remodel was to make the customer's experience more uniform. "I always tell people it's like a high-end branding of McDonalds, only it's for Porsche and Audi. You can have almost the same experience at any dealership you walk into, and you won't be disappointed," Greg notes. Porsche and Audi are all about making clients comfortable, on both sides of the steering wheel.
