The 2019 Audi Q7, Q8, and A6 Earn Awards for Top Safety and Family-Friendly Features

Every year, U.S. News & World Report determines its annual "Best Cars for Families" awards. This year, the 2019 Audi Q7 was named "Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for Families" with judges citing the vehicle's family-friendly features as a key factor.


Winners are determined by considering a combination of professional automotive reviews, safety and reliability, seating and cargo volume, and the availability of family-friendly features. The awards cover 11 automotive classes, and the vehicle with the highest composite score in its respective model category is named Best Car for Families.


The Q7 offers exceptional driving dynamics, advanced driver assistance systems, innovative technology, and connectivity solutions. A quattro all-wheel drive comes standard, giving the Q7 a powerful presence on the road. Taut design lines, standard xenon plus headlights and LED taillights provide a distinctive look.


The Q7 comes standard with integrative technologies such as Audi smartphone interface, which provides Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto for compatible mobile devices. A full color head-up display is available along with standard Audi MMI Navigation plus with MMI all-in touch and Audi phone box with wireless charging and signal booster. The Audi virtual cockpit features a 12.3-inch display with a NVIDIA quad core processor that delivers vibrant color at 60 frames per second.


Standard Audi pre sense basic and city can help prepare the vehicle for impact, available Audi pre sense rear monitors traffic behind the vehicle, and Audi pre sense side provides blind spot monitoring.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the new 2019 Audi A6 and Q8 2019 Top Safety Picks. The A6 was named a 2019 Top Safety Pick+ the highest award available. The Q8 was named a 2019 Top Safety Pick when equipped with the available HD Matrix Design LED lighting package.


Several standard and optional driver assistance features are available, including Audi pre sense basic, and standard Audi pre sense front which helps initiate the brakes at speeds of up to 52 mph for pedestrians and bicyclists and speeds of up to 155 mph for vehicles.


Both the A6 and Q8 received "good" ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations and "superior" ratings in the Front Crash Prevention tests. To qualify for the Top Safety Pick+ award, vehicles must receive a "good" passenger-side small overlap frontal rating as well as a "good" headlight rating.

In addition to being named a 2019 Top Safety Pick, the Audi Q8 was awarded a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Q8 was tested under NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program and received an overall score based on frontal and side crash tests and an evaluation of rollover resistance.


The Q8 integrates technology and advanced infotainment features to meet customer expectations of a luxury SUV. A comprehensive suite of standard and optional driver assistance features are available to choose from, including Audi pre sense front, Intersection Assist, Adaptive Cruise Assist, and a Top View camera system.
