Audi is making strides forward and leaving its competition in the dust with the all-new Audi A5 Sportback debut. Managing director of Audi Sport GmbH, Michael-Julius Renz, comments on the newest addition to the RS family, "The Audi RS 5 Sportback is a completely new offer for our customers. Our progressive interpretation of a five-door high-performance coupe has neither a predecessor model nor a direct competitor.”

Blasting off, the new RS Sportback’s biturbo engine generates 444 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Allowing for an impressive 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds and top speed of 174 mph with the optional Dynamic Plus Package. Inside the 2.9-liter engine there are two turbochargers positioned within the “V.” Audi’s careful placement of the turbochargers allows for higher engine efficiency as well as power and torque.

Improvements under the hood are tuned to compliment the Quattro permanent four-wheel drive with self-locking center differential and improved shift times. With perfect distribution of drive forces, the driver is guaranteed responsive handling and optimal performance. Even in slippery conditions, the traction control system kicks in and communicates with the vehicle to minimalize slip and provide a stable yet exhilarating acceleration.

RS models never disappoint with their looks and exterior design. The RS 5 Sportback is accentuated with a wide and flat Singleframe Grille, matte alu-optic front spoiler with Quattro script, RS-specific honeycomb air intakes, and other distinguishable upgrades. Strolling to the rear of the car, you’ll notice the roaring oval RS exhaust pipes and high gloss rear-lip spoiler. RS upgrades and refinements are noticeable inside and out. Sitting behind the wheel, the driver will notice the driver-focused technology housed in the signature Audi wing-design wrap-around dashboard. From the stitching to the stainless-steel pedals, the RS 5 Sportback is enhanced with Audi’s Sport package.

The interior is also loaded with infotainment and driver assistance features. Smartphone integration comes standard and options for Audi virtual cockpit and a full-color head-up display transform the dash. Enhanced feedback for drivers of the RS include tire pressure, torque, a shift light indicator, and g-forces. Standard driver assistance safety features are loaded from end to end of the car and includes stop and go traffic jam assist, high beam assist, and even traffic sign recognition. The Audi RS 5 Sportback is packed with performance under the hood, refined and stylish with its design, and is loaded with technology for both the race track and around town.
